Mary Ann Wagner, 69, Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully
surrounded by her loving family on July 6th, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice
House. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:30 to 7:00, followed by a
Memorial Mass at 7:00pm Monday July 12th at Queen of the Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, 71st and Metcalf. Following the Mass, there will be
refreshments in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
contributions in memory of Mary Ann to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000
Wornall Road, Kansas City Missouri 64145.
Mary Ann was born in Kansas City, Kansas and had been a resident of Overland
Park for more than 47 years. Mary Ann was very proud of her heritage which
included Irish and American Indian. She was a former Miss Bonner Springs
Kansas, former first runner up in the Miss Kansas Pageant, Miss Agricultural Hall
of Fame and was the winner of many other awards and accolades. She was a
member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and Queen of the Holy
Rosary Catholic Church. Mary Ann had attended the University of Kansas in
Lawrence and was an avid fan of KU Basketball.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Placke and Joseph
Hartegan and a brother, Michael Hartegan. She is survived by her Husband,
Henry R. "Hank" Wagner, two sons, R. Michael “Mike" Wagner and his wife
Melody, Jeffery R. Wagner and his wife Michell and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and caregiver to all. She will be greatly
