Mary Agnes Robb, of Lakeview Village Retirement Center in Lenexa, Kan., passed away on October 13, 2009. She was born in rural Decatur, Ark. After graduation from high school, Mary Agnes moved to Kansas City, Mo., where she worked for Sears Roebuck, and later, Emery Bird Thayer, where she became a buyer of women's clothing. During World War II she worked for Remington Arms Munitions Plant and later joined the U.S. Navy, where she was a Link Trainer Operator, a method used in training pilots. After the war, Mary Agnes worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for 29 years in Kansas City, Omaha, and St. Louis, returning to K.C. in 1980, where she retired. Mary Agnes was active in Cleveland Avenue Methodist Church, which later became Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and relocated near Lee's Summit, Mo. The Wesleyan Service Guild presented her the Life Membership Award, which was then a unit of United Methodist Women. Mary Agnes was an avid reader and well informed in American History. Her hobby was genealogy, so she was very knowledgeable in family history. Mary Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters, and their husbands. She is survived by her sister- in-law, Nellie Robb of Leawood, Kan., and Mina Ruth Robb, of Siloam Springs, Ark., and many nieces, nephews, and their children. Cremation.
