Mary Lorraine Minter passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Leawood United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior from 9-10 a.m.; burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Leawood United Methodist Church. Mary was born December 10, 1922 to Wilbur LaNere Eastwood and Addie Hickok Eastwood in Kansas City. She attended Horace Mann Elementary School and graduated in May 1940 from Westport High School. Mary married Allen Burt Minter. They had one son, Robert. Mary worked at Hallmark Cards as an order filler during high school and summers. She later worked in the insurance business for Central Surety Insurance for 13 years and Vendo for 17 years. Mary was a former president of the Insurance Women’s Association. She was a member of the Leawood United Methodist Church and spent many happy hours volunteering at the church. Her church and church family were a great joy to her. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father; son, Robert; sister, Rosalie Logan; and a niece Barbara Jo Logan. Survivors include a brother, Joel L. Eastwood (Evelyn); a daughter-in-law, Karen Minter; nephew, Wes Eastwood (Rosie); a wonderful friend and neighbor, Mary Maiden; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
