Mary Violet Howard, 96, Kansas City, KS, passed away June 8, 2015. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with Funeral service at 7 pm, Friday, June 12 at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. Burial will be 1 pm, Saturday, June 13 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Mary was born December 30, 1918 in Carbon, Iowa, to parents Cyrena (Wolford) and Frank Roberts. She grew up near Corning, IA, where she met her future husband, Dale Howard, at the Kandy Kitchen. After their marriage, the family moved to the Kansas City area and raised five children: Danny Dale, Janice, Cheryl, David, and Mark. She was a homemaker and a Christian woman all of her life. She always gave unconditional love and was greatly beloved by everyone.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Dale, in 1998; and by her siblings: Joy, Grace, Wilma, Frank, and Peggy. Mary is survived by: son, Danny (Sharon) Howard; daughter, Janice (Gene) Haffner; daughter, Cheryl Howard; son, David (Julie) Howard; and son, Mark (Cheryl) Howard; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3: 16-17.
