Mary Deeds

Mary S. Deeds, 74, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014.  Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 West 92nd Street, Lenexa, KS, with a visitation prior at 9:30 a.m.  Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mary was born is Kansas City, MO to Gerald and Frances Shepherd.  She graduated from Hogan High School in 1957.  Mary was introduced to William (Bill) Deeds by Father Pelecki and later married him on July 29, 1961.  She worked in the insurance industry for many years, but she considered her most significant roles in life to be that of wife, mother and grandmother.  Mary enjoyed fishing with the family.  A favorite memory is of Mary earning a spot in the Bennett Springs "Lunker Book" while fishing with Bill and other members of her family at Bennett Springs State Park, near Lebanon. MO.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Deeds; two infant sons; parents, Gerald and Frances Shepherd; in-laws, John and Rose Deeds; brother, Jerry Shepherd;  brother-in-laws, John Deeds, Al Lea and Dan Goff; sister-in-law, Shirley Shepherd; nephews, Danny Goff and Steven Goff; niece, Cynthia Warnock.  Mary is survived by two children: Steve (DiAnne) Deeds and Christine Deeds; two grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Deeds; sisters, Julie (Philip) Salley, Kathleen (Jim) Millam; Patricia Lea; brothers, Richard Shepherd and Raymond (June) Shepherd; a sister-in-law, Mary H.
