Martha Ann Tarwater, 68, long time resident of Roeland Park, KS passed away May 8, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be Sunday, May 11 from 5 ? 7 P.M., with a rosary at 6 P.M. at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Funeral mass will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd., Roeland Park, KS 66205. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. The family suggests donations be made to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy., Ste. 100, KC, MO 64114.
Martha was born on March 10, 1940 in Cole County, Missouri to Walter and Wilhelmina Hammann. She was a 1958 graduate of Helias High School and an active member of Saint Agnes Parish. She also enjoyed crafts, antiques, coin collecting and refinishing her antique furniture obtained from many estate sales.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three children Kimberly, John and his wife Janice, and Mark and his wife Dianna. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Patrick, Michaela, Jack and Gavin. She also leaves behind four bothers and four sisters. Martha will miss her many friends, as she enjoyed spending her time with them at any opportunity.
