Marjorie Luckey

The rock of our family, Marjorie Luckey, 90, died March 4, 2014, at the Health Center of Claridge Court in Prairie Village, KS.
Marge was born on September 17, 1923 to Fred and May Bueker in Newton, KS. She graduated as class Vice President. She played in the band and orchestra (piano & clarinet). While attending KU Marge join the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and remained an active alum for many years.
Marge and her husband, Sam, raised the family in Leawood, KS. They retired to Palm City, FL until Sam's death. She loved to bowl, play golf and play bridge. Marge was an accomplished bridge player and won many awards during her lifetime. She valued family and friendship most of all.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Luckey and her sister, Arelene B. Steinkirchner.
Survivors include her children,Cynthia Hartman of Overland Park and Greg (Barb) Luckey of Woodstock, GA, along with her grandchildren Jennifer (Chet) Harkrader of Olathe, Lisa (Derek) Cochran of Marietta, GA, Michael Hartman of Overland Park and Bradley (Becca) Luckey of Marietta, GA. She also leaves 5 great grandchildren.
Deepest gratitude goes to the Somerset Health Care Center for their kindness and compassionate care. A special "thank you" to Continua Hospice.
The family will have a private graveside service March 7, 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Claridge Hall at Claridge Court, 8101 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64105.
