Marjorie Janssen Hagstrom, a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Claridge Court. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64113 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Marjorie was the wife of Jerome E. Hagstrom, former Vendo Company executive who passed away August 31, 1998. She was a graduate of Southwest High School and attended the University of Kansas City (now U.M.K.C.). She was a member of the Country Club Christian Church and its Circle 18. An active participant in community affairs, she was a life member of the Kansas City Young Matrons, a Musette of the Kansas City Museum, active in the Children’s Community Theater, the Fireside and Sketch Box Committees of the Kansas City Art Institute, the Scandinavian Club, and the Women’s City Club. She was a member of Mission Hills Country Club and the Society of Fellows of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
Survivors include her daughter, Helene C. Hagstrom of Austin, Texas; son, Jerome E. Hagstrom, Jr and wife, Jolene, of Olathe, Kansas and four grandchildren: Christine and her husband, Chris Oelkers of Austin, Texas, Jennifer and her husband, John Harvey of Sydney, Australia, Justin and his wife, Amy Wiler of Austin, Texas and Heather Hagstrom of Overland Park, Kansas. She also had five great grandchildren: Jake, Reese and Chase Harvey of Sydney, Australia and Kate Oelkers of Austin, Texas and Hart Wiler of Austin, Texas.
