Marguerite Cassing, 87, Dallas, TX, passed away January 7, 2010. Marguerite resided in Overland Park, KS, until 2008.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4805 W. 67 St., Prairie Village, KS. Cremation/Ashes shall be placed in the Faith Church Columbarium.
Marguerite was born in Boonville, MO, to William & Bessie Buckley May 9, 1922. She is survived by her sister Mary E. Biesemeyer of Kansas City; three children David of Aurora, OR, James of Pittsburgh, PA, and Nancy of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren and one great grandson. Marguerite was married to Ellsworth (Cass) Cassing who passed away in 2008 soon after the couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Marguerite graduated with a Master's degree in English from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and taught in the Norborne, MO, high school during WWII. Marguerite shall affectionately be remembered by her family and friends for her love of reading, passion for opera & classical music, talent for playing the piano & violin. Marguerite and Cass enjoyed traveling much of the world together: Ireland was a special favorite. Marguerite was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church until relocating to Dallas, TX, in 2008.
