Margaret Real Baxter, 87, Overland Park, KS passed into the loving hands of God on Monday, March 10, 2008 at SMMC. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 14th at Asbury United Methodist Church, 5400 W. 75th Street (75th and Nall Ave.), Prairie Village, KS 66208. There will be a reception at the church following the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Margaret was born on May 7, 1920 in Nauvoo, IL. She married Jean Baxter of Leavenworth, KS on July 13, 1943 in Nauvoo, IL. They would have celebrated their 65th Anniversary in July. She was a beautician. Margaret and her husband were founding members of Asbury United Methodist Church. She ran the church kitchen for many years. Survivors include her husband, Jean Baxter of the home; two children, Karen Shute and her husband Hal, Shawnee, KS and Dee Baxter and his wife Sharon, Dayton, OH; four grandchildren, Cory Shute and wife Jennifer, Kellie Shute, Stephen Baxter and wife Tammy, Mark Baxter and wife Nicole; and one great grandchild, Grace Lynn Baxter.
