Mae Goul

Mae Ellen Goul, 82, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2009 after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s. Services will be at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, Thursday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m., with visitation from 5-7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Friday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Cherokee City Cemetery in Cherokee, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Team Mae at the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Mrs. Goul was born March 15, 1927 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was married 63 years to the late Robert L. Goul of Shawnee, Kansas. She was the mother of seven. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson. She is survived by daughters Darlene (Bill) Bruce of Platte City, Missouri, Mary (John) Grimsley of Kansas City, Kansas, Connie (A.J.) Andrews of Shawnee, Kansas, and by sons Gary (Patricia) Goul of Gardner, Kansas, Robert (Chele) Goul of Kansas City, Kansas, Jerry (Martia) Goul of Olathe, Kansas, Roger (Kathy) Goul of Paola, Kansas, 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Mae was a long time member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Shawnee, KS. Mrs. Goul lived 46 years in Shawnee, Kansas.
