Mrs. Lillie Pender

Lillie Floriene Pender, 79, of Overland Park, died Sunday, June 29, 2014.
She was born to the late Mauro and Lillie Florez, Mar. 29, 1935, in Dallas, TX. Lillie graduated from St. Edwards Academy in 1952. She married the late Robert M. Pender Sr., and they lived together in Dallas, TX, Shreveport, LA and Oklahoma City before relocating to Merriam, KS in 1974.
Lillie was a devoted wife and mother. She volunteered at grade schools and hospitals while her son was young. Lillie also worked at the Jones Store Hair Salon for 10+ years when her son was grown. Lillie loved animals – over the years she raised litters of English bulldogs (Bams & Yukie), squirrels (Tiny), raccoons (Bandit), caimans (Molly & Led), and Bichons (Gigi) and other fur children.
Lillie is survived by her son: Bob Pender of Mission, KS and her brothers Donald and Joe of Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, Bob is requesting that donations or time be made to the KC Hospice House – a wonderful place.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th , 6-7 p.m., at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS.
