Lillian Rhodes

Lillian B. Rhodes, 82, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away April 29, 2010. She was
preceded in death by her parents, John and Katharine Banka, three brothers, Clarence,
Lester and Irvin Banka.
She worked as an accounting clerk for Rigby Corp. and First Mortgage Investment until
her retirement in 1997, then remained active doing part time accounting for her son. She
was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she enjoyed making Braille
books, helping in the office and volunteering on the altar committee. She loved playing
bridge and was active in several groups.
Her family was very important to her and her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Survivors include husband Charles "Dusty" of the home, son Jim Rhodes and wife
Shelly, two daughters, Charlene Lander and husband Gary, and Janice Hoop.
Grandchildren, Kris, Kyle, Kevin Lander, Karey Carroll, Scott Rhodes and Shelly Van
Pelt. Great grandchildren, Kendall Lander and Lucas VanPelt. Additional survivors
include step grandchildren Jeff and Danielle Holsapple and Kate and Jason Miles. Step
great grandchildren Kennedy Holsapple and Logan and Elijah Miles.
Visitation will be held l0-ll:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church with service to follow at
11:00; burial Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Bethany Lutheran Church
or Kansas City Hospice.
