Mr. Leroy Reeves

Leroy Reeves, age 69, Overland Park, Kansas was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 27th, 2008 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Leroy was born on December 13, 1938 in Louisburg, Kansas and was welcomed into the world by his parents, Walton and Lela Reeves. He met and married his high school sweetheart, Alice Thompson, and they celebrated 49 ½ wonderful years together. Leroy had a love for animals and spent many rewarding hours raising and showing champion American Foxhounds throughout the years. He was active in several foxhunting associations throughout the Midwest, serving as past president, director, and master of hound at numerous hunts. In 1999, Leroy retired from Joy Pet Foods where he was a regional sales director. Leroy is survived by his loving and devoted family, wife, Alice Reeves of the home; two daughters, Janet Baker of Lenexa, KS, and Donna and Greg Reynolds of Jerico Springs, MO; three adored grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds, Kyle Baker, and Zachary Reynolds; two brothers, Kenneth and Avie Reeves, of Paola, KS; Larry and Judy Reeves, of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by brother in-laws and sister in-laws, Don and Shirley Thompson, Tom and Janice Thompson, Gary Thompson, and Charles and Cathy Adkins, one aunt, uncle, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Esther Pecor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 2 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial at Louisburg Cemetery in Louisburg, KS. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Leroy.
