Lawrence (Larry) L. Wenski, 84, Overland Park, Kansas passed away November 13, 2011 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, Friday, November 18, 2011 at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 West 71st St., Overland Park, KS 66204. Visitation will begin at 10AM, Friday, also at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, 9720 West 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212. Larry was born August 16, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Adam and Mary Wenski. He attended Bishop Ward High School, St. Benedict's College in Atchison, and Rockhurst College. Larry honorably served our country as a United States Marine during WWII. On January 28, 1950, Larry married the love of his life, Norma Jean. He began his career with Southwestern Bell in Kansas City, KS and retired from AT&T in December of 1986 after 38 years of service. He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the American Legion and Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish. Larry was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a good friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Mary; his wife, Norma Jean; and his daughter Mary Ann. Survivors include his sister Dolores Foley and family; children, Robert (Marcia), Larry, Janet (Mark), Diane, Barbara (Bill), and Joan (Larry); 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
