Laurence J. Lucy, 72, died, Thursday December 6, 2007 from a heart attack at his home in Overland Park.
Born October 12, 1935, Larry was a devoted husband, father, and brother. His parents Gregory R. and Catherine C. Lucy, St. Louis, Missouri, predeceased Larry. Larry took great pride in his family heritage and the arrival of the first Lucy?s to Jamestown in 1615.
He is remembered for his positive, upbeat and charismatic personality and as an avid videographer. Larry graduated from the University of Missouri and was alum of Tao Kappa Epsilon. Larry served time in the armed forces and became a member of Masonic Lodge #84 A. F. & A. M. in Webster Groves, MO. Larry retired from Interstate Securities Co., Inc., Western Auto Supply Co., and Cedar Creek Properties. He held various positions such as Director of International Division, Credit Supervisor, and Ranger. Larry attended the Antioch Family Worship Center and was actively involved with Community Living Opportunities, where he served on the Board of Directors.
Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Sandra; son, Allan Doug and wife Stacey; dog, Daisy; brothers, David, Robert and Phillip; and sister, Linda Lucy.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 12 at 2:00 P.M. in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas.
