Kenneth Edward Reeves, 91, of Basehor, KS passed away September 21, 2015 at Country Care Nursing Home from natural causes. His funeral service will be held 11:00am, Thursday, September 24th with visitation to begin at 10:00am at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave with burial to follow at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens, 23215 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #56 of Leavenworth, KS and/or American Legion Post #23 of Leavenworth, KS.
Kenneth was born September 16, 1924 in Atchison, KS to Fred J and Anna (Severson) Reeves. He married Betty Jane Peuker on September 18, 1943. He joined the U.S. Army in May 1943 and served in WWII, earning four Bronze Stars. During his life, he worked for MO Pacific truck lines and T.G. &Y truck lines as an over-the-road truck driver for approximately 40 years. Ken and Betty also owned the White Church Trailer sales in KCKS. Kenneth was a proud member of the VFW Post #56 in Leavenworth, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Reeves and his sister, Francis Fitzpatrick.
He is survived by his three sons, Larry E. Reeves, Gary M. Reeves and Alan D. Reeves; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
