Kenneth W Price, 88, Overland Park, KS passed away on Sunday March 31, 2013.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born on August 11, 1924 in Memphis, Mo. He grew up in many cities throughout Southern Iowa. He proudly served in the Army during World War II, where he earned three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. After the War,
Kenneth came to Kansas City where he met his wife of 60 yrs, Shirley Favor. They moved to Johnson County in 1952.
He began selling Fords at Broadway Motors in 1950 and was know as "The Mayor of Broadway". He remained at Broadway Ford for over forty years. Kenneth loved selling cars and frequently said "He loved waking up every morning to go to work". He loved cars, horses, KU Basketball and his cat Pita. He will be greatly missed by all.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley and daughter, Shelley Briggs. He is survived by his daughter Gayle and her husband Dan Price of Lenexa. Also, daughter, Kelly Mitchell and fiancé David Boerkircher of St Joseph, MO. And closest friend Wynn (Lori) Fielder of Overland Park. His grandchildren Leslie (Justin) Hernandez, Paige (Larry) Motzkus, Patrcia (Ross) Nigro, Cameron Halstead, Pamela (Ryan) McCullough and Kenneth Mitchell, and six great grand children.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 4 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Services will be held Friday April 5th at 10:00 am at Newcomers Overland Park Chapel 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. 66204.
Family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice in lieu of flowers.
