Kay Louise Lape passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at the age of 83. She was retired from Paxton’s Lumber Company where she was a bookkeeper. She also served as pianist at Eastwood Hills Baptist Church many years ago.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Cleo Martin, her brother Jerry Martin, and her husband Raymond Lape. She is survived by her sister-in-law Kay Martin of Elkhorn, NE, daughters Pamela Lape (Dina Wheeler) of Loxahatchee, FL and Jill Kelley (Rick) of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren Malachi Beavers (Steven), Jade, Dallas and Codie of Olathe, KS; Zachary Carlburg (Elizabeth), Harley and Haven of Gladstone, MO, Eliana of Redwing, MN, and Alaynna of Gardner, KS; Braxton Kitterman of Overland Park, KS; Asher Kitterman of Olathe, KS: Joe Kelley of Overland Park, KS; and Martina Wheeler of Loxahatchee, FL.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 3 at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel with the Funeral Service following at 10. Burial will be that afternoon at 2 p.m. at The Maple Cemetery in Salem, Nebraska. Donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice House or flower suggestions would be indoor or outdoor plants.
