Joseph Mallon

Joseph H. Mallon, 84, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Christian Healthcare in Republic, Mo. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, with rosary being held at 6 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66206, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Joe was born and raised in the Kansas City area. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Foote destroyer. Joe married Katherine A. Osterlink on Sept. 3, 1949; she preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughters, Maureen Boatright (Mike), and Rita Johnrdrow (Ed) and six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and numerous other family and friends.
