Joseph M. Collett 90, of Prairie Village, KS passed away July 27, 2011. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3, from 6-8:00 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204, with the Rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Arthritis Foundation 1900 West 75th Street, Suite 200, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
Joseph was born September 4, 1920 to Frank and Nellie Collett. Joseph was a veteran of WWII. He married Elizabeth R. Kuzma on December 19, 1945. Joseph worked as a machinist until his retirement.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother George Collett. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, son Ron Collett, daughter Connie Rodriguez, grandchildren Joel Adams and Christine Becker, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Marion Collett, and a sister Carmen Collett.
