John Q. Adams, 85, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kan. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Memorial Fund, PO Box 1653, Topeka, KS 666011653. John was born April 11, 1922, in Akron, Ohio. He grew up in New Philadelphia, Ohio and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1948. Prior to graduation, he served in the Army Air Corps as a bombardier on a B-29 during WWII. John married the love of his life, Anne Gena, on October 27, 1945. He started John Q. Adams & Associates, a school and sports photography business, which he owned and operated for over 20 years. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. John loved his morning walking buddies, his golfing friends and he was an avid sports fan. He had a zest for life and a gift for friendship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pearl Adams; brothers, Merrel Adams and Stan Adams, and his sister, Doris Watkins. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne G. Adams; children, Dr. John S. Adams and wife, Dr. Deni R. Aberle (Los Angeles, Calif.); Betsy A. McFadden and husband, Dr. Scott F. McFadden (Dallas, Texas); Mark C. Adams and wife, Kathy H. Adams (Overland Park, Kan.); grandchildren, Wesley Adams, Annie Aberle, Matt McFadden, Mark McFadden, Chris Adams and wife, Melissa, Spencer Adams and B.J. Adams. PaPa will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
