Joan Bruening

Joan, 56, formerly of Prairie Village, KS, lost her battle with cancer Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Kansas City Hospice. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m., at the Colonial Church, 7039 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS. Joan is survived by her husband and soulmate of 30 years, Tom Bruening of Higginsville, MO; one brother: Ray Van Eman of Overland Park, KS; one sister: Jackie Schwartz of Lawrence, KS; one daughter: Tami Divich of Las Vegas, NV; and two grandchildren: Riley and Trystyn. Joan was a graduate of the St. Luke's School of Nursing Class of '75, and KU Medical Nurse Anesthetist class of '83. Flowers or donations to Humane Society or Kansas City Hospice.
