Jefferson A. Perky passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at Bishop Spencer Place. Jeff was born on November 20th, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., to Jefferson E. Perky and Elizabeth Welch Perky. He graduated from Paseo High School and attended University of Missouri where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Jeff joined the US Air Force and served during World War II from 1943 ? 1946. Jeff was a member of the Overland Park Christian Church; Sons of American Revolution ? Delaware Crossing Chapter; Native Sons of Kansas City; Genealogical Society of Johnson County; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry ? Old Mission Lodge and Abdallah Shrine. Jeff was President/Owner of Perky Brothers Transfer and Storage Company until it sold in 1979. He enjoyed golf immensely and played weekly with his group of friends until this year. Survivors include his loving wife Joyce of 58 years, two sons, Daniel J. Perky and wife Claire, Lexington, Tenn., David W. Perky and wife Teresa, Overland Park, Kan., and four grandsons and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Animal Haven.
