Jeanne Goddard,86, Lenexa, Ks entered into Heaven on Tuesday September 15, 2009 at Lakeview Village. A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be 10:00Am Saturday at Colonial Church in Prairie Village. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials honoring Jeanne’s life be sent to to the Colonial Church in Prairie Village Memorial Fund, 7039 Mission Road Prairie Village, KS 66208.
Born in Great Bend, Kansas, Jeanne was raised by her dearly loved Aunt Blanche Dalby. She graduated from Great Bend High School in 1940. On November 13, 1943, she married her high school sweetheart Charles Goddard and they moved to Overland Park in 1950. She joined her beloved Colonial Church in 1951 and remained faithful all of her life. She was a strong advocate of the PEACE movement, an avid supporter of the Kansas City Royals, and a dedicated member of the Democratic Party.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1983, her aunt Blanche in 1992, her brother Thomas Adams and a sister Fran Gilmore. She is survived by her four children, Sara “Sally” Kammann and her husband, James of Ashville, NC, Mary Randolph of Freehold, NJ, David Goddard and his wife Trula Myers of Prairie Village, KS, and Tom Goddard and his wife Sedeve of Carrollton, TX, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
