Janice H. Amos, 93, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away January 31, 2007 at home. Memorial services will be held 4:00 P.M. Friday February 2, at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Private inurnment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11430 Wornall Rd., KC, MO 64114 or charity of donor?s choice.
Mrs. Janice Mary Hathaway Amos was born August 2, 1913 in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Janice graduated Spring Green High School and Gregg College, Chicago, IL. She worked as a secretary for A.B. Dick Co. for 13 years and at one time was a typist for Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1947 she married Major Frederick Clark Amos, who had served in the Philippines and was a POW. Janice was a proud member of DAR, Huguenot Society, Order of the Eastern Star and other patriotic organizations. She was also an avid golfer and bowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Frederick Clark Amos and her sister, Lenore Cate. Survivors include Nephews, Dr. John F. Amos and wife, Birmingham, AL; Dr. David M. Amos and wife, Leawood, KS and other extended family.
