JAMES M. (MAC) TINKLEPAUGH
James M. (Mac) Tinklepaugh, 90, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
Mac was born on May 30, 1918 in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School. He attended Harvard Business School and graduated from KU in 1936, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and sang for the KU Choir. He was a WWII Navy veteran stationed in Algiers, LA. He was a manager of General Adjustment Bureau Insurance, retiring in 1976. Mac joined the Mission Hills Country Club in 1966. He loved relaxing at his family’s farm and spending time with his family. He was a huge KU fan and enjoyed working out at the gym. Mac was married to Jane Atwater Tinklepaugh for 58 years, she preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons, John Tinklepaugh of Park City, UT ; and David (Carol) Tinklepaugh of Overland Park, KS; a daughter, Ann Tinklepaugh (Peter Davies) of London, England; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
