James R. Thompson, 87, of Prairie Village, KS passed away January 20, 2015. He was born in Winfield, Kansas on February 2, 1927. He was a graduate of Winfield High School, Culver Naval Academy of Culver, Indiana and the University of Kansas. While at the University of Kansas, he was a member of the Delta Epsilon and was President of the Quail and Ale Club. During World War II, he served in the United States Coast Guard. He moved to Kansas City in 1951. He was with Speed Warner, INC, R.B. Jones and Sons, Vice President of Alexander and Alexander and served 40 years in the insurance business. He was a member of Mission Hills Country Club, The Kansas City Club, Wolf Creek Golf Links, Builders Association of Kansas City, MO and The Heavy Construction Association of Greater Kansas City.
