James Dunn

James M. Dunn, 64, Monkey Island, OK, passed away Feb. 5th, 2016 from complications of a stroke.  Jim was born in Kansas City, KS on Feb. 24th, 1951 to Morris and Catherine Dunn.  He graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 1969 and Kansas State University in 1973, where he was the advertising manager of the K-State Collegian.  He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.  He worked in sales for several paper production companies in the Kansas City area.  Jim loved spending time and boating on Grand Lake in OK and eventually moved there permanently.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his sister, Nancy Driscoll, and her husband Bob, of Overland Park, niece, Kelly Driscoll, nephew, Brian Driscoll and grand-nephew, Alex Driscoll, as well as numerous cousins and many friends, including high school buddies, fraternity brothers, The Bros, and friends at Monkey Island.   Visitation will be 5:30 – 8:00pm Wednesday, Feb. 10th at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf.  Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Thursday Feb. 11th, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, his boyhood parish, 7023 W. 71st in Overland Park.  Memorial contributions in memory of Jim, may be made to the American Stroke Foundation or to Bishop Miege High School.
