Jaqcueline (Jackie) was born January 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo. She grew up in Pittsburg, Kan. with her parents, Orville and Edna Hunt and her two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth. As a child, she enjoyed playing the piano and the flute. Her activities included tennis and basketball. She often spent her summers in Colorado visiting family.
She attended college at Kansas State Teachers College (now Pittsburg State University) where she received a Business Administration degree in 1957. While in college she was member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and served as president in her senior year. After working for a year, she decided to continue her education and earned an MBA.
She moved to Kansas City and took a job as a teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District, at Broadmoor Junior High School. She taught ninth grade typing and business and was the faculty sponsor in charge of the school yearbook. She eventually met Bobby L. Webster in 1963, and the two married in 1965.
Jackie retired from teaching to take care of her two children, David and Julia. She was very involved in her children’s activities. She helped with Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls and cheered them on at their many sporting events. She kept busy bowling twice a week, playing bridge, volunteering at the Women’s Symphony Thrift Shop, crocheting beautiful afghans and Tole painting. She and her husband loved to travel and often took the family on long driving vacations across the country.
She will fondly be remembered for her dry wit and compassion. Her poise, grace and strength endeared her to the many people she met throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, David Webster; daughter, Julia Webster; brother, Kenneth Hunt; cousin, Margaret Mahoney; and 4 nieces: Terri Hunt, Marty Taylor, Tracy Rundell, and Katie Arneson.
