Jack B. Iiams, of Prairie Village, KS, went to be with his Lord on June 12, 2019.
Jack was born on June 22, 1927 to Glen and Bernice (Allen) Iiams in Warsaw, MO. He grew up in Kansas City, KS graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1946. He served in World War II, First Occupation in Japan after which he attended Kansas State University, graduating in 1953. He was a member of IIKA Fraternity. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Roena Kuepker. They resided in Kansas City, KS
and Prairie Village their entire married life of 64 years. He is survived by wife, Roena, daughter, Jennifer, and son, Jeffrey (Ann); three grandchildren, Christine (Karel) Brent and Dylan, sister-in-laws, Gertrude Bond and, Barbara, wife of Don, neices, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Don Allen and Kenneth and brothers-in-law, Marcus Kuepker and James Bond and sister-in-law, Cora Kuepker.
Jack loved people, many of whom called him "Uncle Jack". He was always friendly, with a smile and an infectious laugh. He spent his entire career in the retail merchandise business with The Jones Store, Macy's, J.C. Penney and the antique business. He loved garage sales, sharing wine with friends, and attending the senior men's Bible class, which he was instrumental in founding.
He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4153 Rainbow, Kansas City, KS since 1966. A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday June 15th at 10:30 am. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to the Endowment Fund at the Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or the charity of your choice.
