Imogene Tydings

Imogene Jenkins Tydings, 89, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Imogene was born June 6, 1923 in Coweta, OK to Alton and Verda Jenkins. She graduated from Coweta High School and attended Johnson County Community College where she took business and accounting classes. Imogene worked for Pratt & Whitney during WWII. Most of her employment was with governmental agencies which included IRS, Dept. of Agriculture, and retired from the Marine Corps Reserve Pay Center. She married Myrl Tydings in 1942. Imogene loved to cross stitch, shop, go to art galleries, and travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl Tydings, and three sons, Ron, Lantz, and Martin Tydings. Survivors include her children: Marty Tydings, Joi Tydings, and Ivy Tydings; one brother, Ronald Jenkins; two grandchildren: Brielle and Andrew; 3 great grandchildren, Emily, Oskar, and Fiona; and two great great grandchildren, Gwenevere, and Addelyn.
