Helen Elizabeth (Sullivan) Sturdivan, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00a.m., Monday, May 24 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, Kansas with burial in Resurrection Cemetery of Lenexa. Friends may call from 4-6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 23 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, rosary recitation at 5:30p.m. Helen was born May 5, 1918 to Mike and Mary Sullivan in DuBois, PA. She was married to the love of her life, Jim, for 42 years. She was a devout Catholic who was strong in her faith and was very active in St. Agnes parish. She will be missed dearly by all of us. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and daughter Linda. Survivors include daughter Lori Russell, Sons Mike Sturdivan (and wife Melia), John Sturdivan (and wife Carol), 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Mary Lorraine Hanner and many nieces and nephews. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice.
