Hazel Love

Hazel Love, Age 91, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away on April 24th, 2019. Visitation will be Thursday, May 2nd from 5-7 pm at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS with graveside services and burial Friday, May 3rd at 2 pm at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 West 75th Street, Shawnee, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to dementia research or the charity of your choice.

Hazel was born September 10th, 1927 in Archey Valley, AR. She grew up on a farm in Archey Creek, AR and was married to her husband, Virgle, in March of 1946. They owned and managed a farm for 5 years before moving to Kansas City, KS. In Kansas City she worked for Sunshine Biscuits before obtaining her beauticians license. She then opened and operated a very successful beauty shop for many years where she made many lasting friendships. She later retired to take care of her grand kids. She is survived by four children, Kristi Byrd and Dwayne, Bonner Springs, KS, Cheryl Vukas and Mike, De Soto, KS, Kenneth Love and Lyn, Hempstead, TX, and Carolyn Klingbeil and Paul, Seattle, WA; 9 grandchildren, Kaysi, Cody, Brandon, Shelby, Taylor, Miranda, Ryan, Kelly and Kim; 12 great grandchildren, Newton, Cooper, Lorelei, Aubree, Christopher, Lillian, Abigail, Grace, Kaitlyn, Alyson, Amber, Sydney ; 1 brother-in-law, Troy Love and Sylvia, Jacksonville, AR.
