Hazel Hunt

April 10, 1915 — September 1, 2012

Hazel Frances Hunt, 97, died Sat.
Sept. 1, 2012. Born Apr. 10, 1915,
Hazel was the oldest of five children.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Lawrence Howard Hunt; her sister,
Mildred Tygart; and her brothers,
George Howard and Loyd Howard. She
is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Donna and Tom Skates;
her grandchildren, Suzanne Rachel Campbell (Mike) and Thomas Joseph Skates, Jr. (Anne); four great grandchildren, Lily Campbell, Julia Lawrence Campbell, Jack Skates, and Will Skates; her brother, Harry Herbert Howard; and her sister-in-law, Pauline Howard. Hazel loved to garden, was a religious viewer of "The Young and the Restless," and was a wonderful, wonderful cook. Her Thanksgiving dressing and her Big Bird soup were the best. She loved her family and devoted her life to them. She had, shall we say, a "boisterous" vocabulary, and she said the funniest things. My favorite: "This room is so small you can't cuss a cat in it without getting hair in your mouth." She complained about but loved and spoiled all of our rescued pets. When she walked into the house, she'd holler, "Yoo hoo." We will miss her terribly. "You hoo, Mom."
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Sat., Sept.8, at
