Harry Otto Deffenbaugh, Jr., 78, went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2010 in Tucson, Ariz. Harry was born on February 17, 1931, in Versailles, Mo., to Harry Otto Deffenbaugh, Sr. and Alta Marie (Bonine) Deffenbaugh. On December 15, 1956, he married Joyce Joann Harmon in Miami, Okla. He was founder of Deffenbaugh Contractors in 1962 and was later joined in the business by his brothers Bob and Don Deffenbaugh, incorporating as Tri- d Corp. He was a member of the Overland Park Assembly of God until moving to Tucson, Ariz. He had a strong and lasting faith in God. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Joann (Harmon) of Tucson, Ariz. He also leaves behind five children: Reverend Terry (Caroline) Deffenbaugh, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Diana (Roger) Rance, Cando, N.D., Kenneth (Catherine) Deffenbaugh, Blue Springs, Mo., Michael (Roberta) Deffenbaugh, Harrah, Okla., and Shelly (Philip) Leen, Bemidji, Minn. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Heather (Ramsey) Buell, David (Kelly Ann) Deffenbaugh, Derek (Samantha) Rance, Joanna and Anthony Deffenbaugh, Aimee Deffenbaugh, Joshua, Caleb and Kaitlyn Leen; also three great grandchildren: Ramsey and Isabella Buell and Matthew Deffenbaugh. He is also survived by three brothers, Bob, Don and Ron Deffenbaugh, and one sister, Marjorie Reed. Harry is also survived by his faithful Yorkie companion, Torie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry O. Sr. and Alta Marie Deffenbaugh. The services will be held at Overland Park Assembly of God at 7700 W. 75th St., Overland Park, Kan., on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 1 p.m. Visitation for friends and family noon to 1 p.m. Arrangements are by the D.W.
