Gregory "Greg" Howard

Gregory Foster "Greg" Howard, 57, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013, at his home in Overland Park, KS, surrounded by his family.
Greg was born on February 11, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, to Kenith, Jr. and Jean Howard. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1974 and K-State with a degree in Horticulture in 1988.
Greg spent many years with Gabler's Nursery and also Family Tree Nursery at Overland Park, Liberty and Shawnee.
He enjoyed reading American West history and novels, listening to blues, jazz and classic rock, playing fantasy football and gardening.
Greg was a very caring and compassionate person who loved his family, friends and pets, especially his golden retriever, Brit.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Kenith, Sr. and Margaret Howard and Harry and Alice Almon.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bonnie (Bailey) Howard; mother, Jean (Almon) Howard; brothers, Jeffery and Mark Howard; and nephew, Christopher Howard.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at DW Newcomer's Sons – Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
