GLORIA MAE OLIVIER HOTARD
Gloria Mae Olivier Hotard, 87, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away October 24, 2011 at her home. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. A Eulogy and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, also at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Gloria was born on July 24, 1924 in Des Allemands, Louisiana, to Howard and Gerogiana Olivier. There was nothing Gloria loved more than cooking a big meal for her family. She also enjoyed sewing her famous "Holiday Towels" and playing cards. Our family will solely miss Gloria, but most of all, her devotion to and love for all of us.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Melvin Olivier.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald D. Hotard, of 59 years; brother, Nelson Olivier; daughters: Denise (Lenny) Lantz, Rhonda (Roger) Quinlan, and Gail Galino; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren
The family wishes to thank the dedicated and loving staff at Hospice Care of Kansas for the excellent care and kindness given to Gloria.
