Gladys L. Cooper, 89, passed away July 2, 2008 at her home in Prairie Village, KS. Born in London, England in 1919, Gladys met her first husband, John Alder during the Second World War. After their marriage in London, she immigrated to Kansas City in 1949. They remained married and socially very active until John tragically died in the Hyatt accident. Gladys married Harry Cooper in 1990 and until his death in 1999 they enjoyed dancing, traveling and friends.
Gladys was a member of the Saint Andrews?s Society, The Kansas City Swiss Society and El Cosmo. She worked as a prosthetic device fitter where she enjoyed helping her clients. Her English heritage made her very proud and she was honored by Queen Elizabeth II in the late 1970?s for her support of England.
She is survived by nephews Christopher Lemon and Trevor Peachey and families as well as the children of nephew Graham Lemon, all of London, England.
