Geraldine Pressly Weldon, Overland Park, Kansas died December 17, 2009. She was born July 14, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri where she graduated from East High School. During World War II Geraldine was part of a special engineering program at Iowa State University which prepared young women to work in airplane manufacturing plants. After ten months of intensive aeronautic engineering training at Iowa State University in 1943, she worked as a draftsman at Curtiss-Wright Aeronautical Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri. During that time she also attended Washington University in St. Louis. In 1945 she graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City where she taught mathematics in 1946. She also taught mathematics and sciences at the Kansas City Kansas Junior College for three semesters. In 1946, she married James R. Weldon who died in 1986. Geraldine earned an M.B.A. from the University of Kansas in 1982 and retired from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1986. She was an elder at Southridge Presbyterian Church in Roeland Park, Kansas. She had also been a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteer as well as a volunteer for Cub Scout Day Camps. Geraldine is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Vickie and Dale Trott, Ellie Weldon and John Lashbrook, and Gloria and Mike Lane; six grandchildren: Anne, Paul and Steven Chrzanowski, Kelly Haislip (Donny), Briannan and Matt Lane; and great grandson, Hunter. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Southridge Presbyterian Church Day Care Center, 5015 Buena Vista, Roeland Park, Kansas 66205. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 and service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 both at D.W.
