Gerald (Jerry Coffelt

Gerald L. (Jerry) Coffelt, 68, of Overland Park, KS passed away February 7, 2007. He was born November 17th, 1938 in Osawatomie, KS. Jerry moved to the Kansas City area in 1961 and went to work for NAPA (National Automotive Parts Association) where he spent 17 years. In 1978 he purchased Foxwood Auto Supply located in North Kansas City, MO. His second parts store, Abner?s Auto Parts, located in North Kansas City was opened in 1983. Jerry operated both stores for more than 20 years and retired in 2003. He continued to work part time at the Powell Community Center in Mission, KS. Jerry was a 32ND Degree Mason, a life long Shriner, and a man of deep faith and charity.
He is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 42 years. His two sons, Brent Coffelt of North Kansas City and Brad Coffelt of Dallas, TX. Two brothers and their wives; Bill and Joanne of Osawatomie, KS; and Richard and Janette Coffelt of Olathe.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 10 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 75th and Nall, Prairie Village, KS. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of donor?s choice.
