Gene H. Adams age 76, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2009, at Garden Terrace of Overland Park.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, February 19, Shawnee Bible Church, 12921 W. 61st St., Shawnee Mission, KS. Burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, February 18 at DW Newcomers Son's Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS.
Gene was born March 1, 1032 in St. Joseph,MO. He attended Central High School. After graduation, he joined the US Navy serving in the Korean War. Gene attended UMKC graduating in 1959 with a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy. He was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society at UMKC. He worked for 37 years as a pharmacist, including 28 years at C. Morris Watkins on the Plaza. Gene married Doris Swearngin in 1969. He was member of Shawnee Bible Chuch for 28 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Blanche Adams and brother, Kenneth Adams. Suvivors include his wife Doris, of the home; sons, Steve and wife Darla, Warroad, MN and Timm, Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Rebekah and husband Robert Jarman, Lynchburg, VA and Matt Adams, Warroad, MN.
