Fred Kirtley Smith

Fred Kirtley Smith (Kirt), 62, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away May 23, 2010 at his home in Honolulu. Kirt was born June 13, 1947 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was employed by Food Barn and Safeway where he retired after 20 years of service. He was also a Navy veteran and served in Vietnam. Preceding him in death were his parents, and son Brandon Reece Smith. Survivors include sister Karen Sue Harrison, niece Sherri Cogdill and 12 great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park KS. Burial will follow at 1:00p.m., Friday at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery 5005 Frederick Avenue Saint Joseph, MO 64506.
