Fred R. Geyer, 90, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at the L.D.S Church at 71st and Hadley, Overland Park, KS with a service to follow at 11 a.m.. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Special Olympics.
Fred was born August 5, 1922 in Menan, ID. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. He married Betty L. Patton August 29, 1946 in Kansas City, KS. Fred belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was a member of the American Legion, and very active in the church Boy Scout group. Fred was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Geyer; his parents; and nine siblings. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty L. Geyer; four children: Don (Trudy) Geyer, Bob (Mary) Geyer, Eddie (Janice) Geyer, and Carol (Frank) Dombrowski; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; two sisters: Anna Belle Swaner and Fern Wilcox.
