Reverend Francis L. Plumb was born on October 9, 1913 in Webb City, Missouri. He and his wife of 50 years, Earline McCorkle-Plumb began their path of ministries as traveling evangelists throughout the Mid-West. He was called as Pastor to Fairview Baptist Church in August of 1945. He retired from active church ministry in 1970 but continued to spread his love of the Lord through service to Youth for Christ Ministries, Catholic Charities and Youth Front Camps.
He was preceded in death by his wife Earline, daughter Yvonne Barrett-Thut, brothers Bill Plumb and George McBride.
He is survived by his grand-daughter Yvette Barrett-Ayres and husband Kelby, grand-son Scott Barrett and wife Dana, three great-grandchildren Tannifer, Zachary and Zebediah Ayres, and one great-great grandson Kyle Ayres. He will be greatly missed by his beloved friend Rick Munden and many sisters-in-law whose lives were enhanced by his love.
Take heart in the knowledge that his gentle soul is at rest with his Lord. Each of us will remember him differently, but collectively we can paint a portrait of a good man who worked for the Lord and his brothers on earth, who loved his family and who did so gracefully to the very end.
