FRANCES CREIGHTON MAYO
Frances Creighton Mayo, 88, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away November 30, 2010. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. Private family burial in Corinth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Village Presbyterian Church or KC Hospice House.
Frances was born August 16, 1922 in Burlington, IA to Dr. Dennis M. and Dell Creighton. She was a graduate of Parsons College in Fairfield, IA where she met and married her husband, Jack A. Mayo. They moved to Fairway, KS in 1951. She taught at St. Michael’s and All Angels Montessori School, and for many years worked in the Medical Records Dept. at Research Medical Center. She was a member of Village Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and member of the chancel choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Mayo, a son, Douglas H. Mayo, her parents, Dr. D. M. and Dell Blake Creighton, her sister, Ruth Fifield, and her brother, Roger Creighton. She is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Jacky (Mayo) and Warren Nawroth, of Prairie Village, her son, Mark Mayo of Boca Raton, FL, her granddaughter, Kelly (Nawroth) and husband Dave Johns of Gardner, KS, grandsons Creighton Mayo of KC, MO and Zachary Mayo of Boca Raton, FL, and great-grandsons Cooper, Griffin and Quinton Johns of Gardner, KS, and a sister, Mary Teufel of Shreveport, LA.
