Frances Cheshire Wayne Todd, age 88, died peacefully February 24, 2012 with her family at her side. Born May 14, 1923 in Sandusky, Ohio, Fran was a 60 year Johnson County resident whose life touched countless friends, family members, and students.

She later earned a Master's Degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She taught English in the Kansas City, Kansas public schools for nearly 25 years, was an avid gardener, and fantastic cook.
Fran is survived by her husband of nearly 41 years, George Franklin Todd, Jr. and by her children, Marge Therio, Melissa Wayne, Tony Wayne, Mary Jane Ecton, step-daughter Cris Siebenlist, children-in-law Kitty Wayne, Michael Herzmark, and Glenn Newman, by eight grand-children: Mason Poole, Adam Poole, Michael Wayne, Molly Wayne, Christopher Somers, Megan Somers, John Ecton and Stoney Jay Weaver; her brother and sister-in-law Frank Edgar Cheshire, Junior and Ellen Cheshire, her brother-in-law James Charles Chesnutt , and six nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John Edward Wayne, her sister Barbara Cheshire Chesnutt, and her step-daughter Kimberly Todd Weaver.
