Mrs. Floraine Cowherd
April 2, 1923 — September 4, 2014
Floraine D. Cowherd, age 91, of Prairie Village, KS passed away on September 4, 2014. A Memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway Kansas City, MO 64113. Family will greet friends following the service. Private inurnment will take place at Mount Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to City Union Mission.
Floraine was born April 2, 1923 in Kansas City, MO. She attended Southeast High School and Kansas City Business College. Floraine started her career at the Fletcher Cowherd Company where she met her husband. Later, she worked at Dodson Insurance. In retirement, she enjoyed her family and gardening.
Floraine was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Fletcher Cowherd III, her brother Lorenz Dillenschneider, and her sister Marie Benne.
Survivors include her son, Bill Cowherd, daughters Nancy (Dan) Kennedy and Cynthia (Steve) Hinman, grandchildren, Andrew (Lindsey) Hogrefe, Amanda (Nate) McKay, Gina (Chad) Trulli, Krista Hinman, and Dallas (Meridith) Hinman and great-grandchildren James Hogrefe and Vivianna McKay.
