Faye Provorse, 94, of Shawnee, Kansas passed into the arms of angels on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Mount Hope Cemetery, Pennsylvania Ave. and Oak St., Independence, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Pkwy., Ste. 300, KC, MO 64114.
Faye was born on September 20, 1913 in Three Brothers, Arkansas. Her family then moved to Oklahoma. She was the 3rd oldest of 11 children. Faye was married to Harry M. Provorse, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Gibson and husband, Larry of Linn Creek, MO and Verna Hughes and husband, Trevor of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, J. Mike Brunner of Lee?s Summit, MO, Kathleen Thorington and husband, Kent of Shawnee, KS, Lisa M. Sterbach and husband, Mark of Overland Park, KS; great grandchildren, David C. Knopf, Amelia N. and Zoey E. Sterbach; siblings, Troy Lee Sanders and Addie Shahan of Coweta, OK, Charles Sanders of Claremore, OK and Elsie Roller of Wagner, OK.
