Everett Walters

Everett L. Walters, 83, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 7, 2011. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel with the funeral services following at 3 p.m.; burial will be 9 a.m. Monday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, KCMO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Missions at Hillcrest Covenant Church or Heart of American Alzheimer's Association . Everett was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1928, in Zion, IL. He loved American Flags. He served 10 years as a missionary in Costa Rica and Venezuela with his wife and family. Everett retired from TWA after 25 years as a metal mechanic. He also taught High School English for 7 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty J. Walters; 5 children: Terry (Lori) Walters; Danny (Barbara) Walters; Bonnie (Grant) Payne; Beckie (Doug) King; Ricky (Beth) Walters; a sister, Wanda (Tim) Dunn; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
